Born on 16 March 1964, married with Morena and father of two children, Noé (1989) and Linda (1994).

After the Business Studies, his career was devoted to professional cycling for 17 years from 1986 to 2002, as a rider he scored numerous successes in the most prestigious races.

In 2003 Mauro switched his activity to Team Director and then to General Manager of professional cycling teams. He is still General Manager of the team Scott – American beef.

Among its collateral activities we may include the jointly ownership, with the brother of Alberto, of the following companies: Aquatic Park California Center in Chiasso; Vitafitnes SA and Iawa Sagl (all operating in the world of sport). He also owns the Gianetti SA, a real estate company. Together with his parents and the brother Luca he has the property of the small family hotel Vedeggio in Isone.

Since 1997, yearly, a popular cycling race is taking place: the Gianettiday. It is scheduled in October and it is considered a classic race that ends the cycling season.

Two years ago Mauro has created the association ReCycling the World, which has financed the planting of more than a million trees, the production of 15' 000 school kits and created more than 500 jobs in Mali (Africa).
